Hiya! I'm Hakan Alpay, aka Kimeiga......and I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles! I love to make small games in Unity or create graphic designs in Sketch or Inkscape (or on my phone). I enjoy going to the park with friends to play badminton or jamming to electronica, progressive house, niche rap, or anything that sounds unique. I love to experiment whether it's with a gel electrophoresis machine or elements in Android Studio.
I'm going to UCLA for Computer Science and Engineering where I will enjoy so much food! I specialize in systems design (game flow, UI/UX, language development) although I'm always interested in learning how to create new things. I have created logos and websites for friends and teachers in the past who have been quite pleased with my work. |

ABOUT THIS SITE
I originally wanted to make my own website from scratch, but considering how often a portfolio website must be updated, I decided to use an online CMS like Weebly, although that introduced a number of problems. I couldn't have both a logo and text in the top left, so I actually stuck the Kimeiga logo into the "*" character of the font Karla and uploaded it as a custom font. Then I just typed "*Kimeiga" as the title. I also had issues with the padding of certain elements, especially the content container of the splash screen, which took a bit of tweaking in the Weebly Code Editor. The social icons at the bottom are from Font Awesome (I could have used the native Weebly ones, but there wasn't one for Github!). To mask the fact that it's a Weebly site, I have a custom URL ("kimei.ga") which forwards directly to this site. I considered using URL masking, but I was afraid that people might want to link to different content inside the site. I also managed to display a custom favicon for this site as well! All photos on this site were from my lens (or a friends :) ). |
